After decades of failed expectations, the question demands an answer: When has the end-time Prophecy Industry ever got one right?  Prophecy preachers usually claim they are not “date-setters” like William Miller and Harold Camping. No, they only estimate the “season” of Christ’s return, not the exact day. But this is splitting hairs.

The Illusive Last Generation

The end-time Prophecy Industry has hoodwinked believers for generations with tales about how they are the last generation that will see Christ’s return. Popular prophecy preachers have been telling us this for generations. Let us hope and pray thai this time they are finally correct!

Downfall

When I became a disciple, the so-called ‘Prosperity Gospel’ was largely limited to the fringes of the Charismatic Movement. Today, it is everywhere and an integral part of the ‘Word of Faith’ body of teaching that dominates so many church organizations. When I first heard of it, I assumed such an obvious moneymaking scam would never last, let alone conquer the entire Charismatic World. Well, so much for my prophetic abilities!

Excusing Sin

Why do church leaders excuse lying, adultery, extortion, and other serious sins when committed by their political allies?

Early in my Christian life, I was taught to strive for holiness in every area of life whether private or public, and as a disciple of Jesus, I must be separate from the ways of this fallen world, not physically, but spiritually and morally. As the Apostle Paul warned the Church of Ephesus, “But fornication, and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you!”

His Path

Jesus arrived in Galilee proclaiming the “Kingdom of God” – “Repent, for the kingdom is at hand.” In his ministry, the reign of God was invading the Earth, but his realm was of a different nature than the governments and ideologies of this fallen world, and on more than one occasion, Jesus refused political power, especially when it was offered by Satan.
