Reconnaître Jésus

Ce n'est qu'à sa mort que le centurion romain chargé de l'exécution a reconnu que Jésus était (et reste) le Fils de Dieu.

Tout le monde dans l'Évangile de Marc est incapable de reconnaître qui est Jésus, à l'exception de Jean-Baptiste, de Pierre (momentanément) et du centurion romain lors de son exécution, et le moment de perspicacité de Pierre s'est avéré éphémère. Même le Baptiste a commencé à remettre en question l'identité du Christ lorsqu'il a été emprisonné par Hérode Antipas.

Jesus is Messiah and King

The reign of Jesus Christ from the Messianic Throne began following his Death, Resurrection, and Exaltation.

The New Testament is clear. God made Jesus of Nazareth Lord and Messiah, and there is no other. His reign began when God exalted Christ following his resurrection. “God has made this same Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah!” – (Acts 2:36).

Jésus est le Messie et le Roi

Le règne de Jésus-Christ du Trône Messianique a commencé après sa Mort, sa Résurrection et son Exaltation.

Le Nouveau Testament est clair. Dieu a fait Jésus de Nazareth Seigneur et Messie, et il n'y en a pas d'autre. Son règne a commencé lorsque Dieu a exalté Christ après sa résurrection. “Dieu a fait ce même Jésus, que tu as crucifié, à la fois Seigneur et Messie!”- (Actes 2:36).

Le Salut du Seigneur

‘Jésus’ signifie “Yahvé sauve.” Dans l'homme de Nazareth, le salut promis par le Dieu d'Abraham est arrivé.

L'enfant porté par Marie était “engendré du Saint-Esprit”, et Joseph reçut l'instruction de nommer cet enfant ‘Jésus’: “Appelez son nom Jésus, car il sauvera son peuple de ses péchés.” Le nom annoncé par l'ange indiquait l'acte salvateur de Dieu qui était sur le point de se dérouler dans l'histoire – (Matthieu 1:20-23).

Unwanted, Hated, Rejected

Jesus is revealed as the Savior of Mankind in his sufferings and self-sacrificial death for others, including his enemies.

The inability of men to recognize Jesus as the Son of God until after his crucifixion is a central theme of the Gospel of Mark. Ironically, the first man to do so is the Roman centurion on duty at his execution. His self-identification as the suffering “Son of Man” made him unrecognizable to unregenerate men. He was the Savior no one expected or wanted.

The Salvation of the Lord

'Jesus’ means “Yahweh saves.” In the man of Nazareth, the salvation promised by the God of Abraham has arrived.

The child carried by Mary was “begotten of the Holy Spirit,” and Joseph was instructed to name this child ‘Jesus’: “Call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” The name announced by the angel pointed to the saving act of God that was about to unfold in history – (Matthew 1:20-23).

His Victory and Present Reign

Did Jesus triumph through his Death and Resurrection, or is he still waiting for some future event for his reign to begin?

Was Jesus victorious over God’s enemies on the Cross, and did he begin to rule as the Davidic King following his Death and Resurrection? Most Christians would answer, “Well, yes! Of course!” Nevertheless, many popular interpretations effectively if not openly deny this present reality when they claim his reign over the Earth will not commence until his return in glory or some other future date or event.

Recognizing Jesus

It was only when he died that the Roman centurion in charge of the execution recognized that Jesus was the Son of God.

Everyone in the Gospel of Mark is incapable of recognizing who Jesus is, except for John the Baptist, Peter (momentarily), and the Roman centurion at his execution, and Peter’s moment of insight proved fleeting. Even the Baptist began to question the identity of Christ when he was imprisoned by Herod Antipas.
